Not everyone has the money to afford full training courses when studying for an IT security certification. Some businesses either do not have the budget or do not consider an IT certification a reimbursable expense. Another option available to you is to buy yourself a book to study for your certification exam. Consider the following Security Certified books from several security companies.
Security Certified Network Professional books offer thorough coverage of all of the Common Bodies of Knowledge on the CISSP exam. This 1008 page book will present learning objectives for each chapter as well as detailed technical explanations, practice questions, and real-world scenarios. It also included a CD-Rom that has video training from the author, over 250 practice questions, and even an electronic book. This book sells for $65. You could also consider CISSP self study. Of course, there is also the book by Shon Harris.
Other books will give Ethical Hacker various tools and tricks of the trade regarding identifying and eliminating security threats to their company’s infrastructure. Security Administrator - Street Smarts is a real world guide to studying for the CompTIA Security + certification.
