When a Frown is the Best Thing

I met my wife at a Washington DC cosmetic dentist office. We were waiting to get Washington DC teeth whitening, and as we were waiting in the waiting room, we slowly made eye contact. At first it was a little awkward for both of us, because I couldn’t tell if she actually was interested in making conversation because she just seemed to be frowning at me the whole time as I tried to get a read on her, but at the same time, she kept looking up at me as though she was going to say something.

I, on the other hand, did not want to say anything because I was afraid my teeth looked awful. I was at a Washington DC dentist, obviously for just that reason, and I didn’t want my first impression on this beautiful woman to be one of disgust because of my coffee stained teeth.

It took me a moment, but then I realized it.

“I’m here for a teeth whitening. I haven’t seen your teeth, but by the way you have not smiled yet, I am guessing that is why you are here too?”

It was agutsy move, but she cracked up laughing and I knew I was right. We went out that day, after the cleaning.
