I shouldn’t have eaten Taco Bell. You would think I would have learned my lesson by now after throwing up all last week, but those ads for the new Grande Quesadillas were too fabuloso. I mean, fabulous. In case you’ve been wiser than me and haven’t tried this new “food” product, the Grande Quesadilla comes in either steak or chicken. Of course, I had to try both (at the same time), which might be the reason I’m now suffering symptoms of the bubonic plague.
I have this throbbing pain in my throat and it feels like it’s completely clenched tight. It’s a miracle I’m still breathing, really. Besides that, I’m also leaking all sorts of fluids from my nose. I’m not ready to call it simple snot since the color is unlike anything I’ve seen come out of any nose (I work at a preschool, mind you).
Thank God I just signed up for term insurance; of course, with my luck, food poisoning is probably only covered on full life insurance plans. I need to find a way to stop myself from eating at any fast food place ever again, but self-control isn’t really my kind of thing. Maybe some sort of muzzle?

I have plans to take swimming classes in Miami this summer. I am a person who loves plans. I am also a person who loves lists.
Take a look at the list of things I want to learn from taking swimming lessons in Miami and let me know if there’s anything I’m missing that should be on my list:
- How to breathe better while underwater. I know that there are techniques for better underwater breathing but I don’t know what they are.
- How to dive. I never learned how to make my body go head first into the water and that’s something I’d really like to pick up from these classes.
- Some tricks in the water. I don’t want to learn anything fancy but I think it would be neat to learn a few tricks or exercises besides just the basics of swimming.
- Basic strokes. I do, however, want to make sure that I take classes that will teach me all of the basic strokes. I particularly want to learn back strokes since I have never done any of those while swimming.
I think that’s everything. However, I want to have my plans all sorted out before I go so I’ll probably double-check my list at least a few more times to make sure that I haven’t missed anything.
