Este Comida es no Bueno »

I shouldn’t have eaten Taco Bell.  You would think I would have learned my lesson by now after throwing up all last week, but those ads for the new Grande Quesadillas were too fabuloso.  I mean, fabulous.  In case you’ve been wiser than me and haven’t tried this new “food” product, the Grande Quesadilla comes in either steak or chicken.  Of course, I had to try both (at the same time), which might be the reason I’m now suffering symptoms of the bubonic plague.

I have this throbbing pain in my throat and it feels like it’s completely clenched tight.  It’s a miracle I’m still breathing, really.  Besides that, I’m also leaking all sorts of fluids from my nose.  I’m not ready to call it simple snot since the color is unlike anything I’ve seen come out of any nose (I work at a preschool, mind you).

Thank God I just signed up for term insurance; of course, with my luck, food poisoning is probably only covered on full life insurance plans.  I need to find a way to stop myself from eating at any fast food place ever again, but self-control isn’t really my kind of thing.  Maybe some sort of muzzle?

Swim Class Skills Checklist »

I have plans to take swimming classes in Miami this summer. I am a person who loves plans. I am also a person who loves lists.

Take a look at the list of things I want to learn from taking swimming lessons in Miami and let me know if there’s anything I’m missing that should be on my list:

- How to breathe better while underwater. I know that there are techniques for better underwater breathing but I don’t know what they are.

- How to dive. I never learned how to make my body go head first into the water and that’s something I’d really like to pick up from these classes.

- Some tricks in the water. I don’t want to learn anything fancy but I think it would be neat to learn a few tricks or exercises besides just the basics of swimming.

- Basic strokes. I do, however, want to make sure that I take classes that will teach me all of the basic strokes. I particularly want to learn back strokes since I have never done any of those while swimming.

I think that’s everything. However, I want to have my plans all sorted out before I go so I’ll probably double-check my list at least a few more times to make sure that I haven’t missed anything.

Time for a career switch »

I have gotten really interested in pursuing a career in dealing with real estate del mar or else real estate la jolla because I am definitely ready for a change of pace from what I have been doing for the past couple of years. For a long time, I was in college studying to be an English teacher. But of course once I got my degree and had worked my rear end off in school studying and studying and studying to be a teacher, I ultimately decided it was not really for me and not what I wanted to do with my life.

So I got a job as a travel agent selling cruises to customers who would call me on the phone and want information about cruises and it was my job to get them to book through us. At first it was an ok job but over time I realized how poorly people can treat one another just because they are talking over the phone to each other instead of person to person, face to face. I am tired now of the abuse I take just for trying to help people and be friendly and patient while I help them book their vacation. I am hoping that real estate will be a better and more satisfying career choice.

Straight and Flat Bets »

A good betting system is the consistent use of flat bets and straight bets.  Flat bet and straight bet a specified percent of your bankroll.  This method is called grinding and it will not net you big profits in the first week.  The point of this system is long term gain.  The key is consistency.  Do not go on a betting spree or bet your entire bankroll on a ’sure thing.’  The temptation to place more money on what you truly believe is a sure thing may be overwhelming.  Before you do, ask yourself if you are prepared to lose your entire bankroll.

The point of grinding is to have consistent, long-term success.  A big win on one bet is incredibly rare.  Grinding is much more likely to garner positive gains during the course of a season.  If you are looking to get rich quick, sports betting is not for you.  People looking for the big win are people who have the odds stacked against them.  People who bet a smaller percentage of their bankroll using flat bets and straight bets can see a 15% return every week.  Consider using expert sports picks and sports handicapping services for even more consistent results.  Profits over the long term can be made with a consistent, disciplined system and some patience.

Direct vs. Indirect Investment in Gold »

how-to-invest-in-goldPeople who are interested in investing in gold have a lot to learn about this business before they can truly be good at it. Luckily, though, the basics of this gold business are fairly simple to understand so you can learn about it pretty quickly and be on your way to being a gold investor in no time.

The key thing to know at first is that there are two types of investment in gold. There is direct investment in gold which is when you actually buy tangible gold products. This means that you would have gold in hand and you could sell gold in its physical form, getting cash for gold if you ever needed the money. There is also indirect investment which is investment into certificates are shares of gold in which case you don’t get the physical gold in hand. This can sometimes be a smarter investment but people new to gold investing are wary of it since it isn’t tangible.

Make sure that you do your homework before you start to invest in gold. It’s a really wise investment but one that you should be smart about when you’re doing it. You don’t want to lose money on something that could so easily make you money if you do it right.
