Do you remember what youth snowboard jackets were like back when you were kid? If you do, what you’ll recall is that there wasn’t actually something called a kids snowboard jacket. Instead, there were just "winter coats". These were what kids used for winter sports even though they weren’t the best fit for the job.

The childrens ski clothes that we had as kids were bulky. They kept us warm but they made us feel bundled up to the point where we really weren’t very comfortable and we certainly couldn’t move very well. The material that these coats were made of wasn’t designed to be waterproof so we often found ourselves wet and cold at the end of the day despite the fact that we were wearing our winter jackets.

Of course, we didn’t care about any of these things. We liked just being out and about enjoying winter sports activities.

But kids today have it a little bit better. Kids snowboard jackets are now made with the sport itself in mind. They’re designed to be lightweight but warm, allowing kids to move freely even while playing outside in the winter. And they’re waterproof now so kids don’t have to be wet and cold while they play. Some things do get better with time!
